2 Experiments

Loading:

Contrarily to most experiment, we have two distinct loadings:

1. Mechanical load: overturning moment due to horizontal water load in a dam
2. Hydrostatic pressure: (vertical) uplift pressure within cracks along a horizontal plane

Test parameters:

  

1. Hydrostatic Pressure (= 0, 14, 43, 71, 101, 130 MPa)
2. Type of Concrete:
   • Structural Concrete (1 in MSA)
   • Microcrete (3/8 in MSA)
   • Mass Concrete (3 in MSA) (same Mix as in Task C1)
3. Specimen Size:
   • 1 ft. x 1 ft.
   • 3 ft. x 3 ft.
4. Time: Presence of in the Crack for 25 minutes
